Assessment Of Periodontal Health In Young Patients With Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

Background: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder caused by an altered metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats,characterised high levels glucose in the bloodstream. The present study was conducted to assess periodontal health youngpatients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.Materials & Methods: 58 patients I (Group I) both genders equal number healthy controls (group II) wereenrolled. Periodontal status determined based on gingival index (GI) according Löe Silness (GI), plaque index, probingindex clinical attachment level recorded.Results: Out patients, males were 32 females 26. Plaque 2.3 0.9, 1.8 0.7, probingdepth 3.8 mm 1.2 0.8 group II respectively. Thedifference significant (P< 0.05).Conclusion: Young at risk diseases.
